Ok, so I always see people count out the strides (walking the course) before their course and we have done it at my barn but I always forget how many of are steps are one horse's stride? I was thinking that it is either 3 or 4 of our big steps was one of the horses?? Also when counting the strides...you take one big step for the horse's landing before you start to count the strides right? Thanks! |

Counting the strides depend on your own. For me, I know what size of my strides equals my horse's strides - 4 of mine. My friends strides are 3 for my horse. The landing should be 6', as well as the take off.

Yes, I can't tell you how big of strides you take when you walk. If you have a barrel handy, you can use that. Standing up they are 3'. So if you lay it down, that's 3 feet, then see how many steps it takes you to go 12'
