Question Correct dressage leather length...

I am always debating to myself on wether or not my leg length is correct for dressage... A month or so ago I dropped them down a hole or two, can't remember how much, after seeing pictures and feeling that my leg was far to short. Way too jumper like... I still feel like I should drop them more, as I feel like my heels meet a bit under the saddle bad and I can't ingage Ollie as well as if they were longer...

So I need your opinons Firstly, when I drop my legs, how much bend should there be and where should the bottom of the irons meet, in comparison with my leg that is?

Also, I believe this is an updated pic but don't quote me on that... If it's not this is before I dropped them a hole or two.

From this pic, how much should I drop them? I just feel like I can't use my leg as much as I could and there is too much bend.

This is a pic of chick riding. This length allows her to use her legs effectively.

It is her normal length. She pulls them up 3 for jumping.

As a general rule the stirrup bottom should touch your ankle when your leg is just hanging there.

Is it full moon time again? Did the cereal truck overturn and fruitloops got spilt?

Thank you

Is that to the ankle with a relaxed leg, slight bend though??

That is with it just hanging. Not bent, not stretched. Just hanging comfortably.

From what I have been taught, for pony club, with your leg hanging loosely, the bottom of the stirrup should hit the bottom of your ankle bone for dressage, the middle for all purpose riding, and the top of the ankle bone for jumping. Of course, this can vary on the rider and how they are built.

That is a perfect picture! It kind of looks like your stirrups are a little to short so it's forcing you into a chair seat. I follow the rule that your head, shoulder, hip, and stirrup irn should all be in a vertical line.

Thank you everyone I'll drop them a hole or two tomorrow and ease myself into a longer leg. If that's still not enough I'll drop them more once I'm use to the new longer leg.

Thanks again!
