Copyrighted Pictures in Gallery

I have been coming across several pictures in the picture gallery with watermarks showing the pictures are copyrighted and/or proofs.

We ask that you please do not post these in the gallery. If you wish to refer to these pictures post a link to the photographer's web site. Even if the pictures aren't the greatest, they still are the photographer's. We do occasionally receive contacts from these photographers requesting their removal because they are unpaid for. Besides, HGS does state in the FAQ to not upload copyrighted pictures.

Please take some time to go through your own gallery and remove copyrighted pictures (this includes proofs that are marked as such).

We are currently in the process of removing all copyrighted pictures, if you notice you no longer have access to your watermarked pictures that is why.

Please refrain from adding more copyrighted pictures to the gallery. Instead link to the photographer's website.

What if the Watermark is ours? Like I took some pictures today and I wanted to put a copy right on them so no one would claim they are theirs, would I still beable to upload them?

I have the same question as ILRR, I do alot of photography, and I do use a watermark, signature, or a copy right over the pic. Can I post my own copy right pics?

I have the question into the Admin to see what he wants to do. However if we do allow them we will need some way of knowing they are yours. Do you watermark them with your username or anything?

^I too have the same issue.........my drawings all say sporthorseartconnection over the front of them in hot pink. The site is in my siggy and thats all for instant proof I have. I don't want them removed

But what if you paid for the proofs. Becaues my watermark pictures are all paid for? Do you still get to keep then, but just post a link to the photographer?

If you paid for the proof then they shouldn't be watermarked, only signed.

Well some of them did have the sign on the bottom. I must relook. BUT honestly I did pay for them

Admin is ok with uploading your own copyrighted pics, however if there is a way to make it apparent that they are yours like Kelli has her website in her sig that would be helpful so I can make a note of it. Or like my copyright has a cow and says moostangproductions.
