Really??? That's crazy!! You took them, they should be yours not the rodeo's!

Yes they should be.

But I guess this is how certain assoc. control what photos make it to the media.

Did you know Facebook in an infringement of Copyright in some assoc. eyes?

Really! Wow I had no idea! So basically they won't let you post the photos YOU took on facebook? LOL What about just snap shots people take, that'd be impossible to control. I have taken pics of Brad behind the chutes at rodeos for my own personal use, I wonder if some associations would be PO'd if I posted them on facebook? LOL

I really am not sure. I just have to be very careful and keep up with all the rules so that I can continue to have a Photo business. Alot of people think that taking photos of the public is just so easy, but there are alot of rules and tons of hidden exspenses.

My picture has a watermark on it but I purchased the picture...I have the legal right to copy the picture as I please...And some photos people take themselves and have their own copyright so legally they can use them too. This BS

If your picture has a watermark you do not own other than the person's signature then you do not own THAT COPY. You are welcome to scan your unwatermarked copy, otherwise we have no proof that it is yours. I personally have started copyrighting my pictures and since it is my picture and my copyright I can post them on here.
There have been countless times the owners of pictures have contacted us because of that situation.
