Awww Man...!
That's a shame Cooltime!
Well, try to look at the bright side... you now have time now to work with your Vet and see if you can get her to cycling and her fertility up.
Maybe you can make arrangements to take her up to the stallion early to give her more time to settle in and relax in her new surroundings...it can't hurt. Older mares seem to stress out more when moved and since she has been to that place before maybe this time it won't be so strange and stressful to her. Plus getting her there and perhaps letting her stay and be covered thru two cycles might help her to catch.

Oh, Steph. Im so sorry. This really sucks. I know how much you have prayed for this foal.

Best wishes that she takes this spring. Im disappointed that she didnt take as well.
But who knows. Maybe there's a reason why she didnt take.

pm me anytime!

I'm sorry Steph. I know how excited you were about this. Hopefully she takes in the spring, otherwise I guess she just isn't fertile. There may be something not quite right inside.

Is the shot called Regu-Mate? I've heard if you use it for a while (stops heats) and then go off they come in really strong.

Drafts, I am aware that older mares are harder to settle, and she's been bred 6 times, caught on first tries and foaled well... it has bee 5 years since her last foal, however, we did try the horomone shots, they didn't work, we're trying all natural, we're gonna leave her there for a month in the spring and see if that does the trick... let the stud take care of her natural like, without shots.

I've heard of it but never thought to talk to Steve about it... we'll try spring and if it doesn't work I may put her on that, and then see if she'll take the following spring... I'm hoping we like Sweetie, because if we do and we buy her, then I'll have a back up broodmare to get bred to Peppy if Coolie doesn't take..

we tried Hormones, no luck... if it was twins it would have been too late to snip one anyways (2.5 months along)... we'll try for spring, and do it all natural, let the stud bring her in on his own and pray for the best....
