Confessions of a dirt bike addict

Yes, am addicted - I'll openly admit it. I took my husbands Kawaski out for the 2nd time today and just tore it up. I am absolutely loving it. It's a great way to expend some pent up energy. I knew nothing about bikes before I hopped on the other day, I even went as far as to say "It's only a 250..." I had no idea that that's at the top of the list for size and power. LOL. I honestly had no clue. Good thing he didn't tell me ahead of time or I might have been intimidated. Nah, too fun. Apparently I did so well, says my nail biting husband while watching me fly by leaving a hail of gravel and mud behind me, that he's getting me MY OWN BIKE!!! We're going out tomorrow evening to look at a 2 stroke 250 for me. I have never been so proud of myself. I felt so confident on today's ride. I'd only been on it for 15-20 minutes the first time. I just am not intimidated by the bike, and I love how it shocks the heck out of my husband - LOL. He said he can't believe I haven't stalled it or dumped it. It's a big bike, but I LOOOOOVE it!

Of course we didn't take pics. I was so excited I ran out the door and never even thought of the camera. Promise, next time - I will.

Just so excited!! My own bike!!
Here's what we're looking at..

Oh wait.. I have the wrong pic for this Kawaski - this is a 4 stroke, but the body looks the same - so you get the idea.

Personally, I like the Honda best. Hey? Happy for me?

Oh, I must add that I felt like crud afterwards though. I have been fluish all day, the ride on the bike had my adreneline pumping so high that I forgot about being sick. Once that wore off, I ended up feeling even sicker. Oh well, it was worth it.

Sounds like you are having a blast! I rode motocross and 1/2 mile before i got into the flying business so you know what is coming next! I rode a 250 yamaha and a 400 husquvarnia . The sport has changed a lot and the bikes have much better suspension now. That is my excuse for falling off a lot.I gave ice racing a try as well one year.

Yay for MissB and the Chook Chaser (Aussie Slang for a Dirt Bike).
250cc can be formidable but when you start tearing around the paddock on a 650cc trailie the difference is unimaginable.
I'm glad you had fun

I am so Happy for you Jen Jen get a life, not just a wife and Mom, so proud of you.

So you finally got something back between your legs LOL, and I hear this one rears too!!!!!!! Trail riding without tacking up

It's great to hear you and Hubby sharing an interest, UP THE GIRLS, show the guys LOL

Madvoice

You made me laugh, we call them Chicken Chasers, which if you think about it means exactly what you put ROFLMA, but in an Aussie/UK way me old mate LOL

We have a 250cc trials(dirt) bike sitting out the back yard, it shifts!!!!!!

Biggest bike I've ever rode was a 750cc Kawasaki, OMG, too much bike for me, even on a car park

I had a 100cc Suzuki I used to go to work on (save petrol) but car/van drivers have no respect for bikes on the road, so sold it, now the rage over here is for the lads my son's age - 16 is to have what we call a scrot, a moped!!!!

He aint having one - NO NO NO, he'll have to wait till May next year, take driving lessons and have a car(I'll still be the worrying mother )

Jen, I am honestly over the moon for you, wait till Sarah wants a mini version, they are also all the rage over here , does Mitch ride?

Bring it with ya when you visit, we have a place called Hednesford Hills, also wolverhampton speedway, it's real popular over here, but we aint got the country side you have.

Love

Yup, this will be Sarah's bike

It's a teeny little 50. So cute. She sat on one and it was the perfect size for her. Her dad said that when she can ride her bike w/o the training wheels, we'll start her on this. She's so gung-ho. When we were at the bike shop she wouldn't get off it. The sales man gave her a Honda racing sticker to take home. She said "I'm going to put it on my new dirt bike that my Daddy is going to buy me today." LOL, I felt so bad explaining to her that we weren't going to buy her one just yet.

Oh, and when I was booting around on my husband's bike, he walked around while she rode her bicycle. Whenever I passed them she would pedal like a maniac and try to catch up with me. After a while she started to cry b/c she said she wanted to ride it too. Cute eh? She's only 4.

Wait til she starts riding, it will drive you crazy. My daughter has a honda 90 quad and she freaks me out sometimes. We bought it for her when she was 5 and when she was 6 she would spin donuts and get it up on two wheels, "yelling look at me" with the biggest grin, making my gut ache. Now she is into jump the quad, making my gut ache more. Shes only 7 and rides like she is a teenager. She wants a bike next, Oh yeah I'm really ready for that. Not my gut couldn't handle it!!
