My neighbor has a maiden mare(7yrs old) who she put in with a stud so they could breed. The mare came into standing heat on the 1st of the month....we saw the stud mount and sucessfully breed the mare quite a few times that day, after that, they seemed to both settle down. Then on the 10th of the month, she noticed the mare standing out in the field in the breeding position(kinda like urinating position), she didn't think anything of it, just thought she was urinating. And the stud didn't seem interested. Well, the mare went over, stuck her booty in the studs face and assumed the position again. The stud looked confused, sniffed her a couple of times, and then proceeded to mount her and breed her quite a few times after that. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of that? Does it signify anything? I have never heard of a mare coming into standing heat every 10 days! Since then she has not come into heat(only been 6 days though). Any ideas?

that's akward, i'm curious about this as well though b/c Dasiy had done it to Crook also before we sold her, even though he couldn't do anything.
