Right there is where the "mystery" begins.

What breed are we looking at?
he is Australian and American registered Quarter Horse. -

Dams side above and sired by Treena Dandy Lion (Lion man, Booty Man Chickasha Dan- Back to Leo King Ranch King Glo etc.)

Add daddy chestnut ee

Where in the world did he come from??? Because he is black based.....

two ee cannot produce an Ee.

So if momma was a true buckskin with a silver gene.....THAT might explain a few things....

do you have a pic of the supposive momma of this stud?

With all this IFFYNESS, do you REALLY want to breed to him at all?

on the Aus QH site he's listed as buckskin.

Weird...... So he's listed wrong on the Am site?.

I tried finding mum, only thing so far is a pic of her foal with her in the pixc, can only a smidge of her, her bodu is a light creme but her legs seem darker orangy. she looks more cream than pali.

then i bet she is a perlino....black base

which would allow him to be buckskin as she WILL pass one creme gene to him.

which the perlinos only recently have been recognized by the AQHA. Many "palominos" of the past weren't true palominos but because they didn't have a spot in the registry, were registered as palos.

ahhhhhhhhhh how very tricky........

Well, i can see the perlino form what i can see of her.

If you want to look, go to www.dressedinwestern.com

Go to the foals page and the 2nd foal whiskey road, the glimpse of the mare next to him is her - Honeys Hunch.

Ok, so now i have to find the dun in the line.

Either way - now we have established she's a perlino (thank you BW for your help there - i wouldnt have thought of that)

Is the Dun gene always passed on, or is it 50/50.

She HAS to be a perlino to be throwing what she is throwing from the sorrel stallions.

She also may be a dun herself then....just the cremes may be masking the markings
