There are different shades within the colors? Like light and dark grey, wild bay and dark bay, chestnuts come in lighter and darker shades too...

Liver Chestnut too, dark like chocolate with a blaze and three socks.

May I ask what the difference between a chestnut and a sorrel are?

Color tone or breed registry... For instance in TB's I believe there is no such color as sorrel all are chestnut.

I feel that a sorrel is red with a flaxen or lighter mane and tail. Chestnut is all one color red or darker as in liver chestnut.

As far as I know Sorrel doesn't exist in the Arab registry either. I think it's mainly a stock horse thing.
