It worked better on darker manes & tails. This guy used it and WOW! It was shiney. But on white m&t it looks grimey. But glad everyones happy with using it. My loss.....

I use it on my Palomino's mane and tail, and had no trouble getting his tail clean. He himself attracts dirt and grime, so it is nothing new. However, the condition that his tail is now in, even after a few uses is amazing!

It's nothing new to have a dirty m&t my point was it was even more grimey and greasey with the oil in it. It was hard to wash out. But glad it worked for you.

If I were in, say, Wal-Mart, looking for coconut oil, which section would I go about looking in?

outoftheblue,
I found it in the vitamin section. I checked my local walmart about a week ago and they didn't have any but when I went back yesterday they had some. It's $9.99 for the jar, and you don't use much so it should last quite awhile.

Thanks, charliesmom. I lease a half-Appy gelding with the mane and tail to prove it, and this sounds like it might be the thing. As if it could be any worse, when his tail gets dry he begins rubbing it, so I need something that moisturizes and nourishes the hair so that he doesn't ruin what I'm trying to improve. Sounds like coconut oil might do the trick.
