Today the Coastal Carolina Drill Team is holding their Saturday Night Live Game Show, the final one of the season, in New Bern, NC. I'm nervous. I've done plenty of Game Shows, but I've never taken Harlee to New Bern, which is about an hour away, as opposed to the usual 20 minute haul. Just hoping her little tantrums are out of her by now. Any tips on how to calm her down a bit while we're there, other than just riding her through it? Wish me luck!!

(We hauled 6 horses to this show: 4 in our trailer & Jason brought 2) So.....after driving an hour in the rain, we finally got to New Bern. I've been to some different venues, but this one is the most interesting. The arena is on one side of the road, the trailers on the other. Small area to warm up outside the arena & it's blocked off from the 'spectator' area. Throw in about 20 to 30 horses & it gets PACKED. So I lead Harlee over there, in her halter, & she freaks out. They were blaring LOUD creepy Halloween music which echoed badly, had decorations EVERYWHERE, & that fake web stuff all over the tower which was blowing in the wind. Awesome atmosphere. So I take her back to the trailer, throw her bridle on & LEAD her back. I go to walk across the street & back into the 'warm up area' & everyone is blocking the way. I try to excuse myself through everyone when this girl turns her horse right into Harlee's butt. Of course, she kicks & then decides to get all worked up. We finally make it to the back corner with everyone else. The rest of the night went decently well for us. We inproved on mostly everything & brought home 3 ribbons. So right after 'half-time' (it's 10pm by now), one of Jason's horses, Whiz gets loose. He's head shy & decided to show his butt & get away from Jason. Finally, after a 30 minute long chase, he's caught. By this time it's almost 11. We decide to scratch the Flag Race & call it a night. It was the LONGEST & mostly disorganized show I've been to yet. Interesting though, to say the least.
