Bravo Chester.
Thats an kind and effective way in explaining to those little ones, in the hope to be able to reach and teach them, on how to slow down or stop a horse's movement.

As teachers, we must try to be creative and explore.
There are those times, when the convential way may not work best for all age groups.
This way of thinking can bring about a total understanding such as your suggestion and where I hope it will continue to happen, specially for those of us who are riding instructors, horse trainers etc, where there is a real need to be open to other effective teaching methods, or techniques when learning or teaching.

Once again Bravo Chester.
I am certain and we all here thank you for your suggestion and idea on this topic.

I haven't done this to anyone, but I'm waiting to -
When I was younger my lower leg was really unsteady. My trainer used to make me do thighs away - litterally lift my thighs so you could see daylight underneath in walk, trot and canter. Dear God it hurt! When I was finally allowed to put my legs down - they stayed really still. Not sure if it was through fear of having to do that again, or if they were actually broken LOL.
Slouchy riders here are often made to ride with a dressage whip threaded through their elbows behind their back. Also not a very pain free experience!!
