i either stick mine in the washer or hang it and wash it with dawn and water.

Same solution I use for most everything else. A plastic storage container, some cheap soap(bulk containers of orvus usually), and a hose. Spray them down, lather in soap, toss in the plastic container full of water overnight, and rinse with the hose the next day. Gets most everything clean from fabric to rubber feeders to metal bits. I just use vinegar in place of soap for things like bits. I've done it to the personalized halter many times and it seems to work fine.

Toss them in a load of laundry in the washer. Make sure to use some fabric softner, they will be soft as butter when you're done

I like sard wonder soap for everything. I scrub everything i can get my hands on with it, its cheap and really works. I'd give them a hard scrub, rinse them out and then perhaps chuck them in the washing machine. If you put them in an old pillow slip or something, they'll be safe in the machine.

With mine I get a scrub brush and run warm water over it in a sink, or outside even, while I scrub at the mud and dirt. Then I hang it to dry over a sink or outside.

Do they cause any problems when you put them in the washer? Like does the metal buckles, etc. damage or dent anything? I would assume it might make a really big racket.
