![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Classes to enter Well, I have a "problem". I put that in inverted commas because really it isn't a huge major thing, and its a problem I am actually very pleased to be sitting with, if that makes sense. There is a huuuge show coming up in september (yes, I know its a while, but entries have to be in by wednesday). My horse is an OTTB, and has been schooling for 3-4 months now. Really he's a hunter or show riding horse in build, but I know full well he isn't going to be ready to do group gallops and the like. So, I'm thinking I should enter him in Show Riding and Show Hack general breed classes, and then do dressage. Sound ok to you? Or, because I think he has very little chance of winning hack, I could enter him in hunter on the off chance that he may be ready, and is more suited to it. What do you reckon? Next thing- I'm busy with two ponies. Both are connemaras, and there are special breed classes for these but no dressage. One is very very narrow and has floaty movement, he just screams hack. The other is very solidly built and is more hunter. I definitely have to take the skinny one. So do you think I should take him and do just hack, as well as like working riding or something, and take the other one into show riding? Or just take the one pony and do hack and show riding? I can do dressage on both ponies in my junior classes, and I'm definitely doing it on one, but it means he has to go on two different days- so he can do junior dressage in general breed, and connemara showing. The other option is to enter the hunter built pony is Arab classes, as she is partbred arab. Buuuut, I think thats maybe not a good idea? Seeing as she's so stocky. Also, if I don't take the hunter pony, there's another very big graded championship in october, so maybe I should take her to that one and try her hand at her first show hunter and working hunter classes I would take the bigger, stockier one into he general breed showing classes, but I can't really do that..seeing as thats what my horse is doing, UNLESS..I enter adult classes on my OTTB, and do the junior classes on the pony, but I don't know if they'll allow that. I am old enough (young enough?? sorry its so long, I just wondered what your guys' opinions were on what classes I should do, and if i should still do dressage on both ponies, or leave the hunter one at home and take te hack to do two showing classes and two dressage? Instead of two dressage and one showing class each |
