![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I just saw a picture of a chifney bit and i was wondering how it went into the horse's mouth, if it was a curb, snaffle, or hackamore, etc. Here's a link to a similar picture of a chifney bit. | Senior Member+ | It's a stallion/colt bit, used for leading unruly horses. You don't ride with it. You use bit snaps to attach to the halter- one snap per ring on the chifney, attaching to both sides of the halter dees, and the third snapped to the ring under the chin.

| Senior Member+ | A chifney bit is not a bit for riding The top of the bit goes into the horses mouth and the rest is outside of the mouth, underneath.
