Post chickens and miniature horses?

i have a miniature horse and a donkey. I am selling the donkey and was wondering if i could just throw a chicken in with him just to keep him company? Would worms and diseases be a problem?

Cool

Nope. We have plenty of chickens. Just watch out for lice. It may never happen, but it is possible.

But would a chicken be a good companion so he doesnt get lonely?it would just be them in a 30x40 pen. It is dirt(he gets grazed every day) and i dont want the chickens dropping to be a problem? Would my mini be depressed because the donkey is leaving?

well its natural for a horse to feel a bit down if their companion leaves them but give him a while and im sure he will be fine!

Maybe you should get a goat. They make great companions.

Question

One more quick question-how many chickens should i put in with him if they are in a relatively small area? I know that you are supposed to have at least six but i was think i could get six and only put two or three in with my mini because i dont want the mini to feel bothered by the chickens if there is too many-lol-i have had chickens before (i got rid of my last two 3 years ago) so i have a little setup for shelter and food and stuff. So how many do you think would begood?

I think its a bad idea to put chickens in with your mini. For one, chickens will not give your horse companionship. They are birds!

Also, chickens can pass diseases on to horses through their poop.
