here is a link to information about Araucana chickens... they lay blue eggs.. http://www.skyblueegg.com/ and here is a link to a few images of the birds themselves... http://www.browneggblueegg.com/Araucana.html

Our Araucana lays more greenish eggs (though some people would say they were blue--it's more of a matter of opinion!), but she isn't that great of an egg layer. She'll go a few weeks laying an egg every day, and then she'll stop all together. Here's a website that you can order them from: www.mcmurrayhatchery.com

so we probably don't want the araucana chickens then if they aren't reliable egg layers. hmmm... any other ideas? we love brown eggs too, just want something different than we've been getting the past two years |

Hey Ash my intern right now has a ton of chicks that are excellent egg layers. She has both chicks and egg layers depending on what you want. Chicks are like $2, and older ones are like $5.
