Sorry I cannot help with finding chickens, know nothing about them. Good luck in your search.

Our Araucana lays more greenish eggs (though some people would say they were blue--it's more of a matter of opinion!), but she isn't that great of an egg layer. She'll go a few weeks laying an egg every day, and then she'll stop all together.

Here's a website that you can order them from: www.mcmurrayhatchery.com

so we probably don't want the araucana chickens then if they aren't reliable egg layers. hmmm...

any other ideas? we love brown eggs too, just want something different than we've been getting the past two years

my mom got them from there (www.mcmurrayhatchery.com) as day olds. most were roosters (my uncle surprised us with them and had bought a straight run) anyway we have both leghorns (the Best layers) and rode island reds. they all lay very well i do think that mom Really wants some aracuanas but we have like 19 hens already ...

our leghorns lay white an dthe reds lay brown... my mom likes to make a certain pattern in the carton "white, brown, white, brown," and so forth

Hey Ash my intern right now has a ton of chicks that are excellent egg layers. She has both chicks and egg layers depending on what you want. Chicks are like $2, and older ones are like $5.
