Chick and Pago learnt a new skill today

I took them out to our pony clubs chief instructor's place to do a bit of jumping.

After the session they went off mustering. They had fun. Next thing I know she will be turning Pago into a campdrafter.

Rotter of it was I didn,t have any gear with me or I could have gone too.

I would have liked that. Why does the kid get all the fun.

Well I can assure you all next time it will be jeans and boots for me and the helmet in the car, just in case. He has a horse there that I like and looks just the right size for me.

Campdrafting is a HUGE sport here. I do not know what you would call an equivelent sport there.

First you ride a pattern, like dressage but a lot faster and involving things like rollbacks. Then you cut one cow out of a group in a yard. Push it through the gates without letting anyothers out, then run it round a figure of eight course then through a set of finishing pegs.

Its very much like Western Pleasure tests in the USA/Reining perhaps? The TB I gave away was excellent with cattle. I used to chase cattle around on him and unlike all the other TBs at the local shows, he was immune to them. Which was a blessing. Sounds like Chick had a blast
