that's awful I hope she heals well! I would run a line of electric inside the fence before they can even get to the barbed wire. go with the cheap one line stuff that will break if the get tangled and run a line up high and low...that way he can have his cowboy fence and you can have a safe horse..compromise

Suturing is often done in older wounds. So long as they have been well cleaned, aren't oozing and the edges are freshened it's generally not a problem and is recommended in areas where the tissues get alot of motion and can't be bandaged.

Poor girl. Horses are just born accidents waiting to happen.

We have electric fence up on part of it, their favorite hang out place so far. We have a much bigger then 100x200 pasture though, it is about 23 acres. We are working on getting the electric fence up, it is just taking alot of time and money so far. My mom has been moved to working 5 10's and an 8, and on her day off she really has to help pack our house, we are also in the middle of moving as well as her divorce. It has just been really chaotic around here. We are trying to get it fixed as fast as possible!

They used nolvasan as well to clean it before they did the stitches. We called them last night just for ideas as to what to do until the next day. They recommended that. It is just a wash, why wouldn't they be able to? This is the stuff we have :
