cavesson and sidereins

Is using sidereins (correctly adjusted) on lunging cavesson for line lunging and muscle builing a good or bad idea? Instead of attaching them to the bit?
Thank you.
(please no discussion on side reins as such, that was covered elsewhere)

Are you sure you are talking about a cavesson? That is only a noseband.

Yea, I'm sure
The sort we use here for lunging when not wanting to use the bit- it's so snuggle, with three rings, cntre and two sides, that gives more control than headcollar, doesn't twist and it's easy to change direction at will. The horse is educated on lunging, but the idea of self carriage not fully inderstood, and probably mouth needs to be re-softened, so I was playing with the idea of moulding the body withouth mouth pressure first

That would be a LUNGING cavesson, different to an ordinary cavesson.

Yes, that can be used with side reins but with the usual caution of not overtightening them and making sure they have an elastic part built in to ensure they will give to the horse a little.
