Cat Attack!!

Last night the funniest thing happened in our house.

I had better set the scene first.

Our house is pretty large. There is an entrance hall with a passage running down the middle. Bedrooms off to the left, living areas to the right.

The office (where the computer is, me too!) is at the end of the passage. There is another passage running across the back of the house (like a letter T) and halfway along is the laundry.

We have a cat door for our resident feline, Emerald. She actually thinks she owns the house, as most cats seem to do.

Last night Mia and her friend David were watching movies in our front lounge room. I was on the computer at the back of the house.

All of a sudden Emerald starts this total banshee wailing - it was scary, especially as I hadn't realised that she was sitting behind my chair. At first I thought that I must have shifted the chair onto her, although I didn't think I had moved.

Mia and David had come out of the lounge into the hall, thinking that Emerald was having a fight out the front of the house.

Suddenly we realised that the cause of the commotion was the large black and white cat halfway down the passage between Mia and David, and me and Emerald.

Boy, was that funny. The strange cat came down towards me, intent on getting back out the cat door. I got out the way, and Emerald after it.

Out the back, through the yard, with Emerald, Mia and David in pursuit. WHAT a noise! Emerald was certainly defending her territory with plenty of vocal intimidation!!

The strange cat was so fat it couldn't jump over our high side and back fences, so had to escape through the carport. Usually the garage door is down by evening, but had been left up as David's car was in the drive. Obviously where the cat got in.

It was a chase in slow motion - no-one was moving too fast, but there was PLENTY of noise, and lots of laughter from the human participants.

Have never seen that cat before, and don't expect to see it again any time soon!

lol, when we were living in Italy, there was a stray living in the neighborhood that looked exactly like our cat. People kept bringing him to our house and asking if our cat got out. Eventually, we just kept him ^_^
