The round pen is the best place to start. The idea is to chase your horse away from you (keep her going around in a circle), until she decides it's much better to be close to you and let you handle her than being "out there" running and getting tired out. As she is running around, you should start to notice her ears starting to focus on you and she should start to move her lips, indicating she is ready to "give in". I kinda s*u*c*k at explaining things, I hope this makes some sense to you! |

That is very good advice. Another problem might be that you need to work with her more consistently. Everyday she needs to have a halter on her and led around or at least handled in some way other than feeding.

use a small yard. Square or round, it doesnot matter too much. The horse will do exactly what you expect, move away. This is what you want in so much as you will, ideally at the walk, get the horse too move around you in one direction. Move roughly too the middle of the yard but keep the horse moving forward as quietly as possible. Imagine the point as which the horse would, if you moved, change direction. Stay roughly just short of this position keeping the horse moving quietly. Dont pressure, talk to the horse about anything quietly. When the horse stops, and he will, tell him how clever he is. Lots of praise. Remember you have all the time in the world. No pressure on you either. End the lesson. The idea is tooo establish a certian kind of relationship where you will ask, and the horse will feel no threat from you.Continue over a couple of days, maybe more, and the horse will come to you.
