Can you explain blue eyes?

can someone explain blue eyes as a trait, in layman's terms? Basically, if I bred a blue-eyed mare to a blue-eyed stud, would I definately get a blue-eyed foal, or not? I am just curious.

Blue eyes GENERALLY occur with Pinto type genes like sabino and splash name a few. Blue eyes are also seen on horses with excessive amountsof white on thier faces. Blye eyes can occur in any breed that has white markings, But are most often seen in horses with pinto type markings on their body. I don't know enought about the genetics of the blue eyes to say, but personally I'd guess that NO you cannot GUARANTEE getting a blue eyed horse just by breeding two blue eyed horses together.
