If you don't plan on showing him, or using him for anything other then trail, why do his bloodlines matter? There is nothing the I recognize there, but I only know the real big names, not the big-little ones.
I say, if you're happy with him and how he performs in what you want to do, I wouldn't give a second thought to bloodlines. It's not like you can breed him anyways.

Reading that again, it sounds kind of snappy. Sorry!
Didn't intend for it to come off so blunt!

LOL I think it was well put... my thoughts exactly. I would also ad there is nothing in the pedigree you posted that would make me run backward at a high rate of speed either.

If you are happy with him and the vet thinks he is sound and good to go... then get him. YOU are the ONE that needs to be HAPPY!

I don't care about the bloodlines..
But if someone came back and said "oh yea he was bred for speed" or "barrels" etc.
I might think twice about him!!
No broken hips for me!
Thank you for your comments..

Typically, my thoughts are A)if he's a gelding B) you aren't showing a breed circuit or C) you aren't showing at all, who cares about bloodlines.

HOWEVER, being the marketing person that I am, I can tell you that just because I don't care about bloodlines, doesn't mean no one does. Some people want to have a horse they can tell their friends "My horse has champion bloodlines".... even if the horse does nothing but grace the pasture. So, in that regard, bloodlines matter because if you ever go to sell the horse, you inherentely have a bigger market of people to sell to. Stupid or not, some people care about bloodlines even when they matter nil.

But really, do bloodlines matter for what you want? No. If you like the horse and he can physically do what you want to do with him....BUY HIM!!!
