Can horses loose there voice???

Ok I know this may be a weird question but just wanting to find out as sancho used to talk to me every morning but now he dosn't!! Can anyone help!!!

When ill, a horse CAN go hoarse!!


LOL

He may not WANT to talk. But a hoarse horse is something that is WAY different. They sound crackly than normal, and usually cough immediately afterwards.
