Arrow Buying a fly sheet 2nite! Need help deciding...

I am ordering a fly sheet tonight along with some other things but can't decide between these two fly sheets...

http://www.horse.com/Kool-Coat-Class...eet-BFA12.html

or

http://www.horse.com/Saxon-Soft-Mesh...eet-BUM02.html

**Make sure to read the product reviews towards the bottom of the pages.

Also, has anyone every bought one of these sheets and how were they? Does anyone know how the sizing is for the two brands?

I've tried the Saxon, and all I can say is stay away from it! LOL. They don't stay put and they cause severe rubs.

The Weatherbeeta is good. BUT...they do cause rubs too and the neckline is too far back to where it "chokes" the horse. The ones I've seen that look well designed are "Rider's Horse Clothing International" from Dover Saddlery. They are on sale now and have special design around the neck for horse's comfort. Hope this helps.

BTW, Weatherbeetas are true to size.

Well, my parents can't afford to spend 80 dollars on a fly sheet and the reviews never said anything about the fly sheet "choking" their horse. What about defender fly sheets? I've heard those rip easy though.

For the weatherbeeta I have a lyrca shoulder guard I can put on my horse if needed to prevent rubbing.

Well, I was just telling you my experience. Those Dover saddlery fly sheets are on sale in a catalogue in the ranges 30-60 dollars.

I appreciate your input, I will probably go with the Kool Coat though. I went on the dover saddlery website and found one fly sheet for $40 but it was mesh and I don't really like that kind. I suppose if the fly sheet turns out to rub really bad I will have to go with a higher quality and spend more.

Anyone else?

I think you will find (like I have! twice already this summer) that spending less money on a fly sheet.... if your horse is turned out for more than an hour or two a day... it will often get trashed in a matter of weeks. These soft mesh fly sheets just do not hold up well to turnout I have found.

If I was to choose between those two, personally I would get the Saxon.

Thanks Lise, yea I used to have a mesh fly sheet and it would get so dirty so easily and was just a pain to wash so many times, and the stains on it wouldn't come off. The only thing with the saxon is that my horse is a size 70", would a 72" be too big?
