Buying a horse

Hi! I'm new here. I'm looking to purchase a TB (thoroughbred aka t-bred) really soon. He's tall and he's a jumper. That's everything I like. What else should I consider before paying for him?

His temperment, experience, conformation, soundness, how well he behaves both riding and leading and lunging, his age. Many more things then breed and heighth. Also, will u beable to afford this horse? Where will you keep him/her? Are you ready if this horse colics and needs to see a vet or has any health issues? Are you experinced enough to ride this horse and CONTROL him/her? Are you prepared to fall off or your toes steped on? (this may happen with a new horse since they dont know you and you dont know them).

I've liked horses all my life. I've never been able to get one until now because I was always involved with sports. But now that I'm out of highschool and working, there will be time for horse! My trainer at the stables did tell me that if it really doesn't work out, she'd take him as a lesson horse. She went with me to see him being ridden before.

It sounds as though you have a good plan. If your trainer likes the horse and would take him as a lesson horse, then you can't go wrong!
I am happy for you. I have a feeling you will do well.
Publix does pay well!
Have fun with your new horse
