Buyer came

The buyer and trainer came out and looked at Minx. They rode him (after making sure the releases were signed). After all the talk about how well he does for me.......He was a ROYAL PAIN for me!!!!!! He refused the bridle which is something he's not done before.

He did listen to a point but I'm not that good in the seat yet since it has been so long since I've ridden regularly. He spooked once thankfully I was the one on at the time. Once I was done working him a bit the trainer rode him. He listened to her for the most part. I explained that I haven't really started in backing. She did get him to back up which I'm really pleased about but he did throw a hissy fit about it but he did as asked. He didn't buck, kick, rear, bite, etc. The trainer round penned him at first and he did great. They rode for a while then left to go see another horse.

The girl rode him after the trainer rode him and they were insistant that she had to post at a trot because he's bouncy but to me Jack is the worst one and Minx is smooth as a cloud. Jack can and will bounce me out of the saddle.

I guess all in all it went pretty well but they didn't say much. He's nice and the right size. Otherwise not much.

Oh and to top it all off......... He's come down with a slight limp. CRUD!!! Good thing my farrier is coming tomorrow. I think it's the fact that Minx is a week late for trimming but I'm gonna have the farrier check it over anyway just to make sure.

I think I've also decided that since it's been a year and nobody is really interested whether I can afford it or not I'm gonna cancel Minx's ads and keep him. I'm beleive in God and that there are reasons for everything. God brought him to me to help him and apparently I'm not finished with him yet.

Well it's official. She just emailed and doesn't feel Minx is the right horse for her.

I'm not sure whether happy that he hasn't sold yet or sad that he is still here.

Looks like we may just keep him.

I can relate
Today I went to ride the horse that Im leasing
And he was TERRIBLE!
He was such a ********.
He took it into his head to walk out of the outdoor ring down the super steep hill over and over and over again till He walked into the barns parking lot, not listening to me, I had a person (who was looking at me like I was an alien) Grab him before he ran away from the stables and dow to the road.
Erg.
So I brought him to the indoor ring and he didnt listen at all.
He had never acted like that ever before
He's a school horse
and that explains why he was a royal butt today
The lady who teaches my lesson on friday informed me that he had been used in 3 lessons before I rode him.
I am going to talk to someone at the barn about using the horse I lease before I ride him
It got me mad that so many people used him before me, and he was a bad boy for me!

Thanks Cantered. This is technically my second. My first was many many years ago and I sold my old donkey to someone for his grandkids. I couldn't justify keeping her any longer and letting her waste away. It was soooo much easier to sell her than it has been Minx. At least she was a good girl when people came to see her. LOL

Whatever God's plan is for you and Minx Katie is what will work out.
Maybe you do have more work with him as you said. He must have some work to do at your place

Thanks Moni. I hadn't looked at it that way. Maybe he's the one with the job. I know in the time that he has been here he has reminded me of things long forgotten and taught me a lot of new things.
