And it could be a pain issue somewhere? Only gives problems under weight, sprung rib, cracked bone, etc.
And this horse could just be tougher. And may be harder to get along with and train for that reason. Did not mention how bred, but some bloodlines in some breeds are hotter/harder to deal with.
What kind of feed is he getting? Maybe change it, and see if helps.
One thing you shouldn't do it to try to keep riding him. A broken bone is no fun. | Well, i dont really know what it is. He is always ok for, i dont know, around 6 -7 rides just walking, then he goes nuts. He is half arab and half app nothing special. He doesnt get any grain at all. Quote:

If you are using a curb bit, or something else harsher than a French link, its possible the horse is objecting to the pain that is caused him when you put pressure on the reins. And this in turn panics him. | Yes i do know not to use a harsh bit on a greenie. Unless i'm showing, which i dont do often in western pleasure, i never use anything harsher than a snaffle, or a hack, and Spirit was always worked with in a simple D ring snaffle. Quote:

Hope this helps | He was round penned from the very beginning. He is easy to join up with, and he walks, trots, canters, and whoas on command. He will follow me around like a puppy afterwards and does all his ground work, monkeying with the saddle on the ground, bending his head with the bit, lowering his head, backing and all of that PERFECTLY If only he was this good in the saddle Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions. The owners will no longer let me do any work with the horse ( ) so i guess he is just a pasture pet now because they think he is dangerous and untrainable (which i disagree with, but i have no choice) Oh well Britt
