I used to have a problem with the stirrup leathers pinching my legs. My instructor said it was because I was wearing flare leg jeans, and they bunched up and caused the leathers to pinch for some reason. That was a long time ago so I don't really remember much about it. Also today I was riding in a saddle that was too small for me with flare leg jeans and they were pinching a little bit. Does your saddle fit you right? Maybe it's too small for you. If not you could just get tall boots, chaps, or half-chaps.

Hmm I have never got brusing from my english saddles and I ride in my ariats or even tennis shoes. However I do have a western saddle that pinches me, but I still can't figure out why, I think it is because it is to small.

I have never gotten bruises on my knee's but sence you are a western rider I would say it's because you're not use to the english saddle and/or you're getting pinched.

Thanks guys, now I don't feel like such a tool. LOL. Ya, I will try wearing something that protects my legs when I try english next time. I will also be more aware of my leg positioning. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that gets pinched!!
