    Thumbs down Bruised my EYELID.

UGH!! I bruised my eyelid somehow this morning (before I woke up). I had an in-class essay that I had to do, really hurt through that, and tomorrow is the last day of finals- I have 3 finals tomorrow and an essay to finish tonight (I only have to write about 4 pgs more so not too bad).

But it HURTS!! It hurts when I close my eyes, when I blink...it's awful!! The pain is very intrusive... I'm not getting anything done.

Icing is providing some temporary relief- any better ideas? The ice makes my eye feel funny.

Are you sure it's not a stye (sp?). I had one once on the very edge of my eyelid and it swelled my eye half closed and hurt like no one's business. It bruised the lid too. Not that knowing what is causing the bruising will help, it'll still hurt...sorry.

    Aww Ari that stinks

I have no idea what might help...that's definitely a new one! Good luck on your finals, and I hope you feel better! =]

Yep I'm pretty sure- it is a dull pain and a small bruise on my actual eyelid- the muscles hurt when I open/shut it. There's no bump or anything, so I'm thinking it's just a regular bruise- I think I stabbed it with my finger while I was tossing and turning this morning .

It doesn't hurt on the underside of my eye at all either, just on a little part of the top.

blah It's not a bad pain, just there enough to irritate me.

First of all Ari, how the heck did you bruise your eyelid sleeping?? haha!

I would maybe try like a cool washcloth or something instead of icing it just cuase it would be a little milder than ice

If you want to avoid this problem don't give cheek to your boyfriend again.

Goose. Alcohol will numb any pain. To help you along I will have a rum for you.

Try HOT compresses. If it's a stye (sometimes styes have no bump and feel like that- to me, at least) it will really help, and if it's a bruise it will help a little and make it feel really good.

I tend to get styes a few times a year (I'm guilty of falling asleep in makeup sometimes. ) and I just microwave a mug of water till it's hot and then sit down in front of the TV or computer with a washcloth and keep dunking it in the mug. Keeps it warmer longer than just filling a rag with warm water.
