Broker Owned (kill buyers) at AC4H

There are some very nice horses available, some with papers. They are on borrowed time before shipment to Canada. http://www.ac4h.com/BrokerOwnedProgram.htm For more info contact christy@ac4h.com

The black filly and the others on page 1 are owner surrenders before they were seized for animal abuse/neglect. The pinto/paint babies are from a big fund raiser to save them. They are called "milk babies" because their meat is still white and considered a delicacy.

If you are not familiar with AC4H they are a rescue in PA and also post broker owned horses on their website hoping to find them homes before they are shipped. There are pros and cons about AC4H but I post available horses from the brokers to get them exposure hoping to find them homes. Some of the horses are Amish buggy horses, dumped at auctions, etc. I ignore negatives and just think of the horses because once they get to a broker they only have a week or two to find a home. When you see a red P/name that means pending and adoptee, red QT (quarantine) or shipping with they have a home; look for the A=available. The broker will barter and Christy will submit your offer so don't let the listed price scare you away. Remember the cost per pound is going up.

The brokers get them at auctions and only keep them for a week or two then off to Canada, if they are rather nice horses they may run them through another auction; but again they may go to a kill buyer. Ugly cycle... That is why AC4H takes pictures/videos of them and posts on their website to get them exposure. They usually only have until 4:00pm est on Fridays.

No, these horses are NOT at AC4H. The rescue takes pictures of the horses, evaluates, and posts on their website roughly once a week trying to get the horses homes. The horses belong to "brokers" who make money by buying and selling, privately and thru auctions. They get some good ones and some bad ones. Real nice people at AC4H.

Yea, AC4H is a good outfit...near here....and they do good work. It's nice that they take the time to secure these pictures of the broker horses in an effort to help them possibly find homes. Unfortunately, it's not a great time for homeless horses right now with the way the economy is. The horses that AC4H (and similar organizations in your own area) actually work with and rehab are good to consider if you are in the market. There can be some real gems that just need the right change to thrive.
