Angry brogan had a bad day yesterday

here is the backround so you understand

brogan was a breeding stud (nothing more) up until about a year and a half ago.

the woman that i bought him off of had one of her gutsy students start him under saddle-- someone had been on him maybe a handful of times

so i bought him in nov-- knowing this (actually i was excited because i got to work with him from scratch)

its either rained, snowed, too muddy, too icy etc almost every single weekend since i have owned him-- i could only work with him on the weekend because i work during the week (my barn doesn't have an indoor) and by the time i would get out of work it would be too dark out to do anything

i've only been able to lounge him about 3 times and the last time i had to cut it short because i kept on getting stuck in the mud while he started bucking and rear-- i couldn't correct him, so he won the battle

anyway monday night it was actually still light out enough for me to work so i trucked down to the barn

he started with a little tude because there was no one else outside-- so i just got his attention back on me to get him moving again (mind you i had him on a lead rope and was only doing walk/whoahs with him) well he didn't like that too much

the next thing i know he explodes-- starts bucking, rearing, and galloping around me

not because he is scared, but because he didn't want to work at all--

let just say that we had a talk and i now know that he can back up in a straight line very quickly

but man i am telling you -- i know i am out of shape, but my arms are KILLING me today!!!

Sorry to hear that you didn't have such a good ride. Glad to hear you weren't seriously hurt or anything, horses can have such minds of their own sometimes.
