Bridle path

For showing in Western Pleasure, how long should the bridle path be. I like it around five inches.

I have always been told to lay one of their ears back and that how long it should be.

I have also heard that it should be the same length as the ear when it is layed back flat.

yup, the length of the ear (maybe about 5"). I also heard, a 30* path (when the head is vertical, draw a line from the throatlatch straight up, and then cut the path at a 30 degree angle.

I think most judges like to have it just where the ear stops when layed back

Hopefully the judge will never know where the ear falls when laid back though, lol. I like mine just a little bit shorter than the length of the ear, but just by a smidge.
