No. Doesn't matter to me, as I'm not in it for breeding anyway. I didn't care if I had a stallion, gelding or mare....I just wanted a cutting horse

Here is my "stud" geldiing. My little Acey. He is three years old right now, just turned three on the 9th of June, and is an AQHA registered boy. He's growing right now, hehe. His bum is like, i swear, two inches taller then his withers! And he's filled out more, so he's like a brick poo house! He is negative for the HERDA(I think that's what it is) from Poco Bueno.

This is when we first got him, Fall of 2007. He was a 1 1/2 and still a stud. His tail got chewed off by a horse at the place where he was kept. Got him for free.. long story.

Spring 2008. Still a stud. Went through bad winter with proud cut- gelding chasing gelding. Who is going bye-bye sometime this month. No more chasing my little man around!

Summer 2008. Still a stud. Sorry it's black and white. I must have been messing around with it sometime and changed it.

Him this spring. Gelded. I am down hill, but his butt is way up in the air as well.

Great thread idea! I don't have a picture, just a quick funny-to-me story...

When my training partner and I went to see a gelding that we ended up buying to bring along as a schoolhorse, the seller lamented to us, "There was a mistake when he was gelded. Someone gave the vet the wrong horse to cut - this one was supposed to stay a stud."

Luckily, he turned around at that moment so he didn't see us go at each other as we stifled giggles. This horse is a sweetheart, and as earnest as they come, but he is NOT breeding quality. At all. Ever.

We decided it had to be divine intervention from the Breeding Gods or that the "someone" who gave the vet the "wrong horse" had a moment of conscience when s/he made their "mistake."

The Geldings definitely deserve their attention!!

This thread is great for Texas....he thinks all the ladies are into him.

He has been a gelding longer then he has been on this earth!! First thing I did when he 'came of age'.

Pedigree:

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/zip+to+sonny+texas

The undersaddle pictures were taken last week, and he just turned 3 years old in May. The rest of the pictures are from this winter(winter coat, and his tail is braided), and from last summer as a two year old!

Yay for geldings!

No procreating for Sammy. Although, I won't lie... if he were a mare, I'd absolutely DIE to breed him to one of the pinto Warmblood studs... like an Art Deco foal, or something.

Anyways, he's a pretty typical TB, with a lot of bone and a deep barrel. He's got a very pretty head, straight legs (toes out a bit in the back)... and I really don't see many conformation faults... but I'm probably bias.

He has a nice racing pedigree as well: http://www.pedigreequery.com/bygone+era

He didn't race for long, he's shown at state and regional levels in HUS and H O/F up to 3'6". He's also done his fair share of eventing, and has always had clean jumper rounds. Oh, and he's got a super sweet puppy dog personality. He follows me everywhere!
