Breeding my mare again??

This is kinda a question already know the answer to.. I am finnally getting time to actually get out with the horses again.. The kids are getting older and even enjoying being out there with me.
My mare is supposedly never going to be sound for riding ever again... I absolutley love her... Everything about her... Her height, conf, attitude... and she throws really nice babies... I am kicking myself lately for selling Ledger, her last foal. The one I was going to keep... But with other circumstances at home and me NOT knowing Sugar wasn't going to be able to be ridden anymore I sold him...

The vet did say she was sound for breeding... If I bred her I wouldn't have a foal for another year and a half... I think it gives me time I need...

Am I crazy to even be thinking this??? You can be perfectly honest. I value each and everyones opinion...

Yes...
Here's one of them incase others didn't see them...

I am goingto have to really think about this... And think about if I did breed her, Who would I breed her to this time around? Keep with the stud that helped throw nice foals or find another??

I think that you should especially since she has nice babies and the foal will have a home.

BTW I love your mare

She is a gorgeous girl, and she sounds like she means a lottt to you. If she has already produced nice babies for you, and you will have the time for one, I'd say find her a nice boyfriend and go for it

There's a very nice Ap stallion here in AZ named Bond-Age that throws beautiful foals if you're looking for a different sire. www.parkinsonqh.com (Sorry, had to hyphanate that)

Cyn, I think that it would be wonderful for you to breed her again. If not simply for the fact that she has such wonderful genes to pass on. I think that you are right in wanting to breed her again. Can we see some pics of her other foals?

Girl.... lol....

I think you should save yourself the stress and headaches of breeding a mare, waiting 11 mos, praying for a healthy foal and chancing big vet bills....

You got foal-fever Go shopping for exactly what you want.

There is something to be said for instant gratification!

PS...you know I adore Sugar
