For some it's the puppy syndrome. Because they always wanted a foal. Because they can. The best is, it doesn't cost anything and I get a "free" horse. There is a finite amount of people that will own horses and people are keeping horses longer. Horses are living longer. Eventually it will catch up with them and that's a topic of another heated thread. | |

If your clients enjoy auctions then they should really get a kick out of the Big Breed Sales....expecially those that really put on some razzle dazzle...remember the Arabian Sales ...that sort of "big-to-do"... If you can get some of the sale Catalogs sent to you and then pass them on to your clients you might do a bit of influencing that way. Plus if you can get them to attend one of those sales they just might learn something....well...it's worth a shot!

![]() | I'm disgusted. Why do people breed back yard horses, they arent valuable and really arent the best of show horses, good companions and trail ponies but the world is OVER filled with horses, their are SO many horses put to slaughter because of over breeding! Dont they realise that this foal is just...I'm not going to finish. Bredding a 3 year old that's CRAZY! IT's MUCh healthier to wait till the mare has more mautrity, training, and body! Breeding should be thought out and NOT a game used by owners! It's irresponsible! Show them a list of the unwanted horses in the world! I have a 17.1hh TB stallion but he is a NIVE mover and well bred, with a good personality, one of the nicest studs I have EVER had the pleasure of knowing. |
