Western barns??? Weatherford area and Gainsville area I know have internships. Your best bet is to get with an Equine college advisor. They usually have the list of internships being offered. Though the next one you have to apply by like August to be brought in for Spring internship. Usually involves breeding and foaling. Summer and Fall internships usually involve training/care type positions.

There are honestly more race horse internships that I've seen over any other "discipline".

When I go to the campus later today, I'll nab the book and see who offered what this past round.

The problem is that all my college advisors know nothing of the equine world.
Im not looking to do a spring internship right now because im am taking some college courses. I never thought though of when the best time to do an internship might be.

All depends on the kind of internship you want.

Breeding would be "spring" ......training is Summer/Fall from what I saw on the race horse internships.

Call other colleges. Many are willing to talk to other kids all the time.

But I'll nab up some of the names and places i've seen for you.

Then if you don't want to directly be involved, AQHA and APHA both have internships that are offered year round. From journalism to all sorts of neat positions.

Best thing to do, put in Internship and the discipline area (Cutting, Western Pleasure, etc) that you may be interested in

babcock ranch is a good place to go!!!

www.6666ranch.com also has internships, BIG time breeding facility in our area.

I'll see if they are looking as well. Usually they post at the school.
