I'll be the first to go against the grain.
I hate her back end. She's sucked up under herself and her back is fairly long.
But that's just my opinion.

I can see how you would think her back is long. But if you draw a box around her, you'll find a pretty square, as opposed to rectangular, box. It's not a perfect square, slightly longer than tall, but it's also not an obvious rectangle. She does have a bit of a gooserump, and is slightly sickle-hocked, but for ME, they aren't to a big enough degree that I'd turn her down as breeding stock.

Her shoulder is a bit upright, but she's also standing over her front feet a bit. Still, I'd want a stallion with a nice sloping shoulder to help her here.

belle4, I have some AQHA friends who would kill you for your Last Detail mare

If you'd like, I can ask them who they'd pick, based on bloodline nicks, for a LD daughter.

John,

Alex would have to earn 10 points (ROM) to get her full QH papers. If/when she does, I can also breed her to an appendix or TB if I choose.

Right now I'm limited to a QH stallion to have the foal be registered.

Alex is not standing perfectly square (front end), but she is what she is and I won't defend her. Everything about her speaks for itself.

Her hindend is my least favourite part, but it's only in comparison to the rest of her. She's nice all the way around. I second that temperment of the stud and offspring should be a big concern here.

I really know nothing about the AQHA HUS world, but I'm pretty dang fond of this Artful Move son. He's 3/4 TB but has ROM'ed out to regular registry.

LOL Shannon, one of my first thoughts for a LD mare was an Indian Artifacts line

Funny because I was thinking Indian Artifacts might compliment her nicely as well... He's also known to produce really willing offspring always a bonus

Ok, one of my Last Detail admiring friends has come up with 2 tidbits:

First is a Sky's Blue Boy son - Hanes Performance Horses, Black Sky Affair, Its All About Blue, Skys Blue Boy, Dynamic Deluxe, Arts Self Portrait, Artful Move, Tennessee, Quarter Horse, horses for sale, thoroughbreds, appendix, web page

And next would be Millun Moxie Man who is apparently throwing some REALLY fancy futurity and HUS kids. I was hoping my OTHER friend would chime in, but I forgot she's already headed to a show...with her Millun Moxie Man 4yo who is really really nice.

My friend really liked your mare Said "she's a nice shortbacked mare" LOL I don't think I'd call her SHORT backed, but I think she does have a very nice length of back, and IS "short" compared to some of the stretch limos that are out there.
