Question breathing problems. pics added

My mustang mare is overweight. the vet was out last in september. he said that she was healthy just overweight and she checked out fine. latley i have noticed that i can hear her breathing. she doesn't get any feed so when i put all the horses up to eat she likes to walk up to me and stand there for some lovin' while they eat. she is usually already at the barn so she didn't have run or walk a mile to get there and she isn't breathing heavy but i can hear her. is this normal. i haven't noticed with the other horses. she is a really mellow horse and just kinda plodds along. i can't really see her breathing but i can hear it. pics will be added around 6pm.

Are you stalling her at night? If so, she needs hay at the least. I wouldn't quit feeding her altogether, just give very small quantities.
What does her breathing sound like. Does it make a strange noise, or is it just normal sounds?

Could she have heaves?
Is her hay dusty? Is the barn well ventilated?
She is a pretty girl.
What does she eat? She might be insulin resistant and benefit from soaked hay, low NSC hay, a supplement with Magnesium, and/or a limited grazing/grazing muzzle.

What does the breathing sound like? (Weazy, whistly, huffy)

You're likely dealing with two seperate issues here, both which need to be addressed.

she is on 24/7 turn out. not stalled unless injured. umm hay isn't dusty and feed on the ground. she gets no grain or treats. vet sais she was not IR. She is mustang. rounded up in navada. he said that she just stores to much body fat. she isn't worked much at all. i really dont know how to describe the breathing. it doesn't sound odd in any way. low normal breathing. no one else hears it unless i point it out. i guess it kinda sound like someone sleeping.

It wouldn't hurt to check her vitals......temp, pulse, capillary count, breaths, dehydration.
If she has anything-infection, flue etc, you want to be able to treat it as soon as possible

How did he determine she wasn't IR?

she has all her shots including the flu. when the vet was out i asked him to check her for IR. he did a physical exam and said that she wasn't showing any classic signs. i guess the cresty neck or something and he said that 90% of the time its not IR and that he really thought there was no need for concern just a diet. she hasn't always been this big. she has gained the weight now that she is on pasture. but i have no way of taking her off of it.

There is no guarantee that 'shots'/vaccines work 100% of the time - they MAY drastically help but don't always work. 2 years ago we had Rhino in the barn - the probability is that every horse had it but only a few were tested by the Federal Vet and every one of them came back positive AND all were current (within in 3 months) on 'shots'. In 1991 both of my sons, who were current on MMR's, were exposed to 'hard' measles and both got them (oldest son almost died) - one still has no immunity to mumps from the vaccines.

There are all sorts of respritatory viruses out there that have no vaccine for.
