Breast Collar Cleaning?

How do you clean an elastic breast collar like the one below? I was planning on cleaning the leather as usual but I am at a loss on what to do about the elastic. If all else fails I guess it will get the soapy water treatment.

So are there any tricks for cleaning the elastic?

I throw the entire thing in a bucket of Anti-bacterial/fungal wash and scrub it with a stiff brush and rise.

I don't think a mild soap would bother the elastic. I use natures miracle soap on all my stuff that touches the horses. I had one guy sort of break out from soap. It's a little more spendy but very mild.
