After my husband's girth broke, it REALLY reminds us to use the breast collar.

My horse came home WITH The saddle, but no hubby.

It was one less thing my hubby had to hobble home with....**snickers**

Plus, it keeps the saddle from sliding back, snapping back (roping and barrels is REALLY hard on a saddle).....

I need to get one for my english saddle, cause I'm always getting mad at it....and I'd feel more comfortable with one.

I use a breastplate sometimes, it depends what horse I'm riding and what I'm doing. When I jump cross country I use one.

It depends on the horse and what I'm doing.

Trail riding in the mountains - yep definitely.

Reining - no - too restrictive for the horse.

Gelding with round barrel and no whither - couldn't be without it.

Only when I'm using the jumping saddles. Don't for dressage.
