Brat Baby decided to be Sweet Baby today ... she was very good and I was very proud of her. Even took video of Chris picking out her feet! His mom will get a kick out of it...hahaha

Gertie is getting so big!! When we first brought her home she weighed about 317 and now she weighs 341 She's getting taller too.. I can't believe how much she has grown..



She isn't so scared of the Velcro Monster anymore.. she'll toss her head a bit but doesn't back up and/or pull on her rope when tied.



Was very good on our walk today. No stopping, tossing of head, rearing or striking. Before, she would always walk so slowly when we leave the other horses but she kept up and walked right next to me today.

She somehow managed to gash the underside of her tail. I have no idea HOW or WHERE she could've done this but when I was brushing her tail I noticed some blood next to her poop exit... so I lifted up her tail, didn't see anything then looked under and saw this:



So I cleaned it up and put some Corona on it.. I'll have the BO check on it in the morning and I'll follow up tomorrow evening. The dummy I don't get how they do these things sometimes!!

Anywho... I will still call her Brat Baby ^.^

Regal has cut himself there before scratching on wire fencing, maybe she got her tail flipped up over some when she was rubbing? Can you imagine what an ouchie spot that would be to have a cut!?

Gertie is at about 11.3/12hands..think somewhere in-between on the tape. I measured her yesterday too...

and SL...In no way could I ever be a brat ...........

I'm definately getting her a matching blanket. She's only worn the one she has now a few times and there are already rips and tears galore in it..

That would be THE WORST place to cut or gash yourself *shudders*.. talk about OUCH! She kept wiggling around when I was cleaning it. I'm sure it hurt, but she was a good girl about the whole thing

Aww that's cute, did Chris kiss her after that first hoof? I wish I could get Rod to even try and pick a hoof, or even brush a horse...heck he don't even brush his dog, unless I get on him about it....Gert is growing! They do grow so fast for that first year! Cathy
