Brands

does anyone know about reading mustang brand marks? i got my mustang from a rescue so i don't have his papers, and i got him last fall so i haven't really seen his brand clearly yet because he's so fuzzy. is there a way to contact the BLM to get information? any help is appriciated. thanks!

Yes you can call your BLM office and they have a little book you can get.
I think it is free I had one but cant find it. Sorry.

if i figure out his registration number, is there some way to find out more about him? i know nothing at all about his past.

I think once you get his registration number you can take that to the BLM and they can tell you the area he was captured and when he was adopted.

i didn't get him because i wanted a pretty horse, i got him because he needed a good home and someone who would spend time with him. besides, i think the brand adds character.
