Branded?

Any of your horses branded? Mr. Ed has a JM on his side, the breeder's initials, and Stevey has ISR brand. Just wondering

two of mine are...but my big TB isnt! lol...our paint has the sign of her old barn (broken arrow) on her sholder..its a cool brand...heres a picture of it! lol

and then hope is too...she has an H on her shlouder and a 6 on one bu.tt cheek and a 7 on the other...um as sick as this sounds we think that was once how she was identified ...they would just say "go grab #67 its her turn to get bred" thats the kinda past the poor girl came from...you would think she would be bitter...but she is the SWEETEST girl ever!

Koda has a freeze brand on his neck, cuz hes a mustang, but thats it..the rest ar brand free!

oh yeah...allie (the paint pictured) is freeze branded and hope is freeze branded on her shoulder but not her rear end

Poncho is a BLM Mustang so he has a Gov't Freeze brand on his left side of his neck.

My Arab Gelding also was freeze branded as were all the Arabs in the barn I worked for. My dogs are tattooed on the inside of their left thighs AND microchipped as well! I'm actually trying to find out more about microchipping of horses, I understand it's not used as often as we used in dogs. I use microchipping so much in my breeding program all puppies are starting to go home microchipped and I still recommend the owner have a tattoo done when puppy is 6 ms or older. Not everyone has a chip reader.

The QH we are buying has a brand. Does anyone know how to research to find out what a brand means or where it came from. His is very faded and hard to see. The lady who was selling him didn't even know it was there until we pointed it out to her.

I put no b/c Peppy is the only one w/ a brand. Two of them are off the track and have lip tatoos though.
