Brand question.

In the last week i've saved this Blue roan mare and she has a Q on her right hand side of her hind quarters. In nz a Q like that meant a QH is it the same in america?

NO brands aren't like that In the USA. The brands are normally registered by individual farm or ranch in individual states. A Q in one state could mean one ranch but in a different state it could be a totally different owner.

Nope - each state has it's own brand registry. Some breed registries (warm bloods primarily) do have their own brands for those who pass kuring (sp?) but the 'normal' American breeds (Appaloosas, Saddlebreds, Walkers, pinto/Paint, Quarters, etc.) don't.
