If you think daddy might carry the creme gene, and momma might too, spend the money and send off for her testing.

She could be a darker version of a double dilute....Which would be really neat.

Seein'spots The sire is almost a smutty buckskin too. He has a lot of dark on his face.

I'm starting to think Perlino also. The stud has not had a red based foal yet. So I think he may homozygous for the black gene. I went and played with the filly at my mom's,, since she's my moms... It looks like she's sunburnt on her lips and muzzle. The poor dear is terrified of anything else but her mom. I'm not sure if she's been haltered but I haltered her today and wow does she have a strong fight or flight instinct. I wanted to end off with her nursing and me right there with the halter on but that would have taken a lot longer and I didn't want to stress her out anymore so we ended on her allowing me to take the halter off and stand a bit before she walked around her mom to the opposite side and nursed. lol. I need to find a foal mask to help cover her eyes and help keep the sun off her nose. Not sure how well sunscreen is going to work for her lips. Have to call the vet for something horse favorable.

If you're horse's eyes are hazel it is a possibility that he is Champagne rather than palomino

Well. I don't know what she is. Have her creme dilute tested with UCDavis. If they are still offering two tests for $50 then have her red gene tested as well.

Palomino foals can have blue eyes for months before turning brown. Have had a few in my day and I keep track.

The tests are $75 for two tests. I might have to do the tests myself to get it done. I need some updated pictures too Once I get a chance to run out to my parents place I will take some. I need to visit my colt too.
