Braids?BAnds....whatelse??真??

okay i am gonna put this thread here and in the show and compo one soo here it goes....
For showing at open shows if you are showing western what are some possible mane and tail braids or positions. MY boys mane is to long to band so that it out of the question, but could his mane be braided because it is really nice but it has a small but noticable chunk missing but it is gone when i braid over it so is this okay

also are you allowed to use splint boots in like pleasure i am not going to but can you?????

thanx u much

What breed is your horse? Are you showing breed classes/shows?

No protective boots are allowed in pleasure classes.

No braiding in western unless you have a gaited horse then just those two top braids I believe. No protective boots in any pleasure classes either. You should pull your horses mane unless he is a saddlertype breed or if you really dont wnat to. But since he has a missing chunk, pulling the mane might be a good idea.

Heres a link that shows a couple different braiding styles. Last year showing (I showed with CWHA-canadian western horse association) there were a few people that did the diamond style and didnt get marks taken off or anything. Just call and check if its aloud and all that jazz. anyways heres the link
