Braiding the forelock

Okay, when I look at pictures of horses who have their manes braided up in 'buttons' as I am accustomed to call them, I also see that the forelock has been braided up very tightly right from the very top.. I don't know if that makes sense :P I'll try to find a picture. But my question is, how the heck do you do it that way? :P

Okay, found this picture on google.. you can kinda see the forelock. Do you do this by using the pull through? Sorry, silly question, i'm just curious.

It's a small french braid, and then pulled through just like the neck braids are done. Easier said than done of course. I can't french braid. Someone had to do Bucky's for me.

Yep, I pull mine through very tightly too. Its the same sort of braid that's done for the tail as I find it easier instead of dividing the inital lot of hairs into three. Easier to get tighter too.

How come you can't french braid a horse's mane like human hair.
If only that could happen.

i would just use alot of strong gel though it can't be slippery let it dry a little then braid it might help as it gives you some extra grip. This might be a bit off the topic but i dun know how to open a new forum thiing i was just wondering i have a 16.1 hh chestnut with no white markings on his forehead, what colours would you suggest in a browband i have brwn tack.. any help would be great. Thanx

I can't braid horses for my life...I just spare myself the aggravation( I am a complete perfectionist, I would NEVER be satisfied) and pay someone 15 bucks to do it for me, lol
