I don't have to braid often, and I'm not very fast at it, so I did it the night before. Spray gel and a hood held them nicely for me.

When I band, I do it the night before, so that I can put a sleezy on and keep it flat. My horse is pretty good about not rubbing them out, but if I ever had a horse who rubbed them I would have the professioanly do it the morning of. That is what I am paying them for, that is when it shoud get done.....I would be willing to pay a different rate for mornings though.

If I had a pro do it, it would have to be the night before, unless they're used to braiding at 3:00 in the morning, with out me there. I'm fine with it in over night, as long as I can put a slinky on. When I actually braid myself, it's the night before. I'm planning on braiding the tail the night before this year. And if I do my running braid, like I always do, it'll be the morning of, since those things fall out easy. |

I do my own the morning of. I am very obsessive about them looking perfect, probably takes me 20 - 30 mins. If I were paying someone I would expect them to do it morning of.

I braided Sapphire the morning of the show, as there were bars on the upper half of the stalls, sepperating the horses. And when she was braided, she would rub her mane up and down and up and down those bars, like a kid with a stick along a fence. Needless to say, I would always have to rebraid in the morning anyway

I always braided the morning of... if I was paying someone (have in the past, probably will in the future) I would also expect it done in the morning... too many things can happen during the night...(I call it the mane and tail manure fairies)!

I pay a professional braider to do it.. They braid in the middle of the night / very early morning. We take all the braids out after our last class of the day, and then they get re-braided that night/early morning of the next day.
